EASTERN EUROPE— A few weeks ago we invited a life coach in to discuss obstacles to reaching goals. Although a very secular discussion, at one point the topic turned to negative thoughts. I shared Philippians 4:8 with the class. One of the wives teared up and asked, “Karen, do you really think it is possible to change your thoughts about yourself?” We talked after class and R shared about her abusive childhood and how she always believed she was no good. I told R what GOD said about her and finding her self-worth and identity in Him. I asked her to memorize Philippians 4:8. The next week she came to class and pulled the verse out of her pocket. She exclaimed, “KAREN, GOD’S WORD IS BECOMING LIKE COMPASS FOR ME SHOWING ME WHERE TO LOOK AND HOW TO THINK.” His word is powerful and true and able to pierce the heart. Pray that R continues to find her identity in Christ as we meet with her.
NORTHERN EUROPE— Last week while meeting to go over her goals, M began to cry. Thru her tears she shared the marital difficulties she and her husband were experiencing. I comforted her and explained what forgiveness looks like. This led to a spiritual discussion why we can forgive because we have been forgiven.. M and I are now meeting weekly to go over Biblical truths. Please pray that she will be grounded in truth and for healing in her marriage. Pray for wisdom as we meet!
