A hallmark of Cru is our commitment to win, build and send...Here are a few stories of this being played out at Christian Embassy this year...
“M” is a Northern European diplomat wife invited to my Personal Development class by one of her friends. While meeting with her to set her goals, she pushed her paper aside and asked if we could talk about her marriage. Through tears she shared the struggles she and her husband were having. We began to meet regularly. We talked at length about marriage,
communication, forgiveness. I shared with M that we are all broken people needing to experience God’s unconditional love, acceptance and forgiveness so that we can fully love, accept and forgive our spouses. After several meetings, M prayed to invite Jesus to be her Savior. It has been encouraging to see her grow in her faith and trust God in her marriage.
•PRAY for M’s continued growth and for God’s healing in her marriage.
I have had no greater joy this year than to see “H”, a young Asian diplomat wife, walk in truth and grow in her faith. Since H came to Christ with me it has been so encouraging to see her eagerness to grow in her faith. She never misses a follow up appointment and it was not unusual for us to meet for at least 3 hours going through lessons on how to study the Bible, the character of God, prayer, the Holy Spirit and how to share her faith. Towards the end of the year, H spontaneously shared with a roomful of non-believing diplomat wives about her goal to grow in her relationship with Jesus. It was fascinating watch the women ask questions about how she “became” a Christian. She clearly explained the Gospel and her desire to learn the Bible and grow in her faith.
•PRAY that H would grow in her faith and love of God.
One of the difficulties of this ministry is that we are always saying goodbye to these dear diplomats. This summer three of the lovely, believing Ambassador wives in my Bible study were either sent back to their countries or onto another posting. Each of these three women have been built up in their faith through the ministry of Christian Embassy during their time in New York. As each one of these leaves, we meet with them individually to encourage them to take what they have learned and go teach others. We share resources with them and pray with them. It truly is a time of sending out to go teach the nations...
•PRAY that God will use “A” in Africa, “L” in Southeast Asia and “G” in South America. Pray that they will rely on God and trust Him to speak through them to those they seek to minister to.
