Men’s Retreat – 2016There is always something special about Spruce Lake Retreat and Conference Center in the Poconos. This year was no different. The walks through the woods up to the waterfalls, disc golf over by the zip line, basketball in the gym, lots of game time with ping pong and shuffleboard were all great things about the place. Some guys went on quads out in the woods about 1/2 hour away and others went to another outdoor resort area for hikes ans recreation.
But the best part of the weekend was the time spent together as men reflecting on the Word of God together. Many new friends were made and friendships strengthened. There was one man who came to know Christ as his Savior! There were some great times of prayer together and lots of interaction about our spiritual walk.
The Bible times centered around the book of Joshua. The theme was “The God of the Impossible” and how He works in our lives. The 4 main points were:
He is the God who always keeps His promises
He is the God who changes lives
He is the God who exhibits great power so that we might know him
He is the God who can be trusted even when we don’t understand.
It is awesome to know and remember that the God of the Impossible, who does impossible things is at work in my life so that I might let Him change and and help me grow in my confidence in Him.
