I started attending Fellowship when I had a car to drive and a license in my wallet - 2016; I was 17 years old. I had gone to a church just down the road all of my life, but through the influence of many of my high school friends coming to FCC, I decided to join them at Fellowship. Walking through the doors each Sunday for the next number of months, "my friends' church" slowly became "my church". There was no moment when this happened, rather, just a journey of slowly becoming known and me knowing others over time. A sense of home developed in me then that continues to grow in me now.
I am the Junior High and Children's Pastor here at Fellowship; it is a great honor to walk towards Jesus together with children, middle schoolers and their families through the hills and valleys of life. On Sunday mornings, I am a part of our Collingswood campus with Pastor Jerry. It's a unique privilege to pastor in both contexts (Collingswood and Mount Laurel) of our one church.
When I was a boy, I never thought of being a Pastor. I wanted to be a professional athlete because I loved sports. When I was twelve, like most teens, I came to the sobering conclusion that I wasn’t going to make it as a sports star. I struggled with injuries, so instead of being on the field, I spent months at a time with Physical Therapists. I liked the science and struggle of each exercise, but I loved the depth of relationship I experienced as I spent time with my PT. I also loved the long-term healing that came from staying the course of what my Physical Therapist prescribed. I was sold on the profession. After graduating high school from King’s Christian, I went away to Stockton University in 2017 with the idea that this would soon be my vocation – my undergraduate degree is the proof (and I still pay for it!); however, during the summer of 2020, despite getting accepted to my top school for my doctorate, I rejected my graduate school offer. God was moving me towards a different direction: towards Fellowship. During those same times, I got a call from Pastor Mike offering my wife Ali and I a chance to lead our Middle School Youth Group on Friday nights in a very part-time way. It didn’t take much thought and prayer for us to jump two feet in. The rest is history!
Ali and I have been married since June of 2021; we have two dear children, Magnolia and Judah. In our free time, you will likely find us at Costco, the local library or Brigantine beach. Ali and I enjoy getting out for walks as a family, going to bed early, and finding God in simple moments.
