Pastor Jared teaches from 2 Chronicles 17–20 about King Jehoshaphat of Judah, a “good” but flawed king. He focuses on two battles: in chapter 18 Jehoshaphat compromises by making a marriage alliance with wicked King Ahab, ignores repeated warning signs despite hearing the true prophet Micaiah, and narrowly survives as Ahab is killed and Jehoshaphat is rebuked for helping the wicked. Jehoshaphat then repents and reforms Judah. In chapter 20, when invaded by multiple nations, he leads a fast and prayer, admits, “We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you,” receives God’s promise that the battle is God’s, worships, and sees God defeat the enemies.
