Giving Help

God, at the very center of who he is, is generous. He is constantly giving the resources of his very Self to love. By giving, we participate in the joy of His new and living way. We give to celebrate and join God in his renewal of all things.

THERE'S AN APP

The Church Center App takes a great giving experience and makes it that much simpler. Log in easily, give any time to any fund, update bank or card information and see your giving history. Download it now to get started. Of course, if you'd rather just give through your computer, you can always do that too.

NO PASSWORDS!!!

Giving doesn't need passwords. Just use your mobile number or email to sign in and a secure code will be sent to you to complete the login process each time. And if you use the app to give, you can log in with face or fingerprint ID if you choose.

Online Giving

Setting up ACH Transactions is the most cost effective way to contribute to our ministries through online giving. This can be setup through the Church Center app on your mobile device, or through a computer’s web browser.

Setting up ACH Donations through the Mobile Church Center App

Go to the App Store (apple devices) or the Google Play store (android devices). Search for “Church Center” by planning center. Download the app. Enter your mobile phone number to begin. If you’d prefer to login with an email address, then select “Use Email Address Instead”.

You will then be sent a six digit code to login.

Once logged in, tap on the circle account symbol in the upper right. Under Payment Methods, tap on “Add bank account”

Instant Verification

If you know your bank login and password, you can select “Instant Verification” and follow the prompts to verify your account information. This is the quickest option. (To make this process quick and easy, a service called Plaid is used. Learn more about Plaid in our FAQ).
It has come to our attention that PNC bank does not currently support Instant Verification. You'll need to use the instructions for Manual verification below for the time being.

Manual Verification

If you do not know your bank login and password, select “Manual Verification.” You will need your routing and account number to proceed (easily found on a check). Input your account holder name and select “individual” for account type.

Input your bank routing number and your account number, then select “Next”.

You will then be emailed instructions on how to complete the verification process. Make sure to check your junk/spam folder if you do not promptly receive an email. If you have any issues or complications on the way, email rpittman@fellowshipsj.org for help.

*Note: this process can take up to 3-5 days to complete. Our online giving partner (Planning Center Giving) will deposit two small amounts (approximately $1 total) into your account. When those two deposits enter your bank account, you will be asked to verify the amount of each deposit. They will then be taken out of your account with one single transaction, not two. This is to ensure that Planning Center Giving can both receive funds from your bank and return them if needed.

Setting up ACH Donations through a Home Computer

Go to https://fellowshipsj.churchcenter.com/giving

Click on the circle account symbol in the upper right. Select “Login”.

Enter your mobile phone number to begin. If you’d prefer to login with an email address, then select “Use Email Address Instead” below the word “Next”.

You will then be sent a six digit code to login. Login as your name. If that isn’t you, then select “Not You?”

You are now logged into Planning Center’s Giving Portal.

Click on the circle account symbol in the upper right. Click “My Giving”.

Click “Add Payment Method”. Select “Add bank account”.

Instant Verification

If you know your bank login and password, you can select the “Instantly Verify Your Account” button and follow the prompts to login to your banking institution and verify your account information. This is the quickest option. (To make this process quick and easy, a service called Plaid is used. Learn more about Plaid in our FAQ)

Manual Verification

If you do not know your bank login and password, select “manually verify your account”. You will need your routing and account number to proceed (easily found on a check).

FAQ

CAN I SET UP RECURRING DONATIONS?

Absolutely. We encourage you to automate the important when it comes to your tithes, offerings, and gifts. On the giving screen, just change the “Frequency” from “one time” to “Recurring” and then pick the schedule that you’d like.

WILL MY CONTRIBUTIONS BE REFLECTED ON MY ANNUAL GIVING STATEMENT?
Yes. Fellowship will be sending out yearly giving statements for your record keeping. If something you’ve given is not on your giving report, please contact us immediately. Remember that all your giving is tax-deductable.
WHAT IF I CHANGE BANKS?

This is no problem at all. You’ll need to log in to your account and update your debit and credit card information as well as any account information you’ve added to your account for bank drafts.

CAN I UPDATE THE FREQUENCY OR AMOUNT OF A RECURRING DONATION?

You’d be amazed how simple making these types of adjustments are. You can log in anytime and edit any of your automated tithes, gifts, and offerings.

HOW DO I GET HELP?

Simple – ASK FOR IT! If you need help setting something up, or have a question that isn’t answered here, just give email us at rpittman@fellowshipsj.org. Give us a call at 856-235-1697. We’ll get you the answers you need.

CAN I USE A CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD?

You sure can. You can set up either at your convenience. You can also set up a draft directly from your account, similar to any online bill-pay setups you currently have. Remember, we can’t see your account information, nor can we access your finances. This is only something you can do.

CAN I DO THIS JUST ONCE?

Yes, it’s simple to give a one-time gift very quickly. But if you want your giving to be included in a year-end giving statement, you’ll want to log in. But don’t worry, that’s easy too. There’s not even a password to remember.

WHAT DOES "COVER THE FEES" MEAN?

There is a check box option for you to “cover the fees”. In order to accept online payments we use a payment processor that charges certain fees on each gift (this is standard practice). You are given the option to cover the fees so when you want to give $100, it actually costs $100 + the fees so that the church actually gets the $100 you intended. This is in no way obligatory, but many people choose to cover the fees so the church does not have to bear that cost. If you’re interested, the lowest fee way of giving to the church is via ACH bank transfer. That only costs $0.25 per transaction regardless of the amount.

WHY CAN'T I SEE MY SPOUSES GIVING HISTORY?

For security reasons, our system defaults to having every individual’s giving separate. However, you can send an email to rpittman@fellowshpsj.org and we can join married couples’ giving together.

DO CASH OR CHECK GIFTS COUNT TOWARD MY YEARLY GIVING?

Checks are always entered into our giving system using the name printed on the check. There’s no envelope required.
Cash can only be included in your yearly giving if it is placed in your numbered giving envelope.

WHAT IS PLAID?

Plaid makes it easy to set up ACH transfers from any bank or credit union in the U.S. Once a user links their account via their banking credentials, Plaid retrieves their account and routing numbers. ACH payments can be set up in moments.

HOW SECURE IS PLAID?

We know many people are hesitant to enter online banking credentials anywhere outside a bank’s own site. We encourage this hesitation; it’s smart to learn more about the security of a platform before sharing financial details with it. Plaid is a secure, audited, and trusted system that has built partnerships with most major US-based financial institutions and thousands of credit unions across the country. Plaid is also a trusted provider for major financial apps and services, like Venmo, Robinhood, and Stripe. Put simply, banks are on the Plaid platform because banks trust Plaid.

DOES THE GIVING PAGE KEEP MY BANK ACCOUNT AND LOGIN?

Planning Center Giving (the application we’re using) never has direct access to anyone’s bank username or bank password. When our service prompts you for this information, you are actually interacting with a secure window into the Plaid system that pops up onto their screen. All credentials are securely encrypted between that pop up window and Plaid, using industry-standard end-to-end encryption.

I USE PNC BANK - CAN I STILL CONNECT MY BANK?

You can still set up ACH giving with PNC bank. However, they do not currently support Instant Verification. That means you’ll need to use the manual verification process, which can take 3-5 days and you’ll need to follow the emailed instructions carefully. Feel free to reach out to rpittman@fellowshipsj.org for any assistance.
