Johnny and Thays Furst – Director of Word of Life Austria.
Our work during the year is directly helping churches on a weekly basis with children and youth ministries, training, discipleship, and leadership conferences. We run 5 summer camps (adventure, kids, teenagers, horseback riding, and English) and winter camps. Word of Life Austria is located in Villach, near the border with Slovenia and Italy.
We are a German-Brazilian family. Jonathan is born in Brazil, the son of German missionaries and Thays is Brazilian from the region of São Paulo. We have three children: Thomas (24), Lukas (22), and Hannah (18). In 1996 we met at the Word of Life camp in the South of Brazil (Porto Alegre). We have theological formation by the Biblical Institute Word of Life in São Paulo.
From 1999 to 2015 we were missionaries at the Word of Life South (Porto Alegre). Jonathan was for many years coordinator of camp ministries.
In 2016, God sent us to restart and lead the ministry at the Word of Life Austria. God has blessed us and over these 7 years we have seen the ministry grow and today we reach around 400 youth and children annually.

Our prayer requests:
– That God will use the ministry of the Word of Life to reach the hearts of Austrian youth with the gospel of Christ.
– For the youth team that is being formed. We praise God for the lives of young people who are getting involved and also ask that God will give them wisdom.
– For the summer camps – for more enrollments and for hearts that are open to the gospel message.
